The End

I stopped living in Shepherd's Bush in September 2011 after over four years of experiencing the good, the bad and the ugly sides of W12, London, UK. I have since left London and am now (November 2011) travelling around south east Asia and am due to land in Australia in time for Christmas. You can read more about my leaving the Bush and my decision to go travelling here. You can also follow my journey, quite literally As the Bird flies, over on my new blog, where I blog predominantly about travel, but I also review books, write about learning to be a better photographer and share some of my thoughts and fears including how I'm missing the Bush!

(UPDATE: April 2013 - I'm still travelling and still missing the Bush. I also self-published my first short story, See the Amalfi Coast, which you can download for free as a mobi for your Kindle, a ePub for your Nook, Apple iBooks or Sony eReader or as a pdf to read on a desktop, smartphone or tablet. You can also download it from the Kindle store. In terms of our travels, you can see where we've been here and read my latest posts on the road here.)

I have decided to keep the site content active on the off chance that it is useful for any Bush residents, newcomers or visitors. If that's you then here are some posts about Shepherd's Bush to get you started.

How to survive Shepherd's Bush

The 10 things I like most about living in Shepherd's Bush

All the posts about the best, the worst and the most yummy food in the area - Bush Grub!

All the posts about how to drunk in Shepherd's Bush - it sadly isn't that difficult, though there are some nicer places than others to enjoy a drink!

Posts about Bush Theatre including this important post about becoming a member of their local scheme Bush Local which offers discounts and special deals for local folk (and it's free to join!)

Posts about Shepherd's Bush Empire - a great place to see music or just marvel at the different type of fans queuing up most nights from goths to cowboys to punks to teeny poppers.

Posts about the history of Shepherd's Bush - featuring maps, facts, photos and local residents' stories.

Posts about local Bush businesses I have had the pleasure to meet and find out more about.

Posts about Bush Festival - a (hopefully!) annual free one day summer festival held on Shepherd's Bush Green run by local young people for all Bush folk to enjoy no matter your age or background. This is a special and important project so please support any which way you can.

All of these posts feature photos of Shepherd's Bush so have a look. Also there are dedicated Shepherd's Bush Groups on Flickr so make contact with me on there and I'll show you more Bush Snaps.

That should keep you going! You can also contact me with any question, comment or news you have about Shepherd's Bush as no matter where I am in the world I'm always interested and keen to talk Bush. If you're on Twitter and would like to ask a Bush question or feed some news then please use the #bushw12 hash tag. The Bush loving Twitterati on Twitter are the number one reason why this blog grew and grew and I am eternally grateful for their support, then and now.

Though I may no longer be the Bird in the Bush, I am still Bird and I'm still blogging away. I  personally got so much out of blogging as Bird in the Bush that I couldn't imagine stopping so I really do hope that you check in with my new blog and new journey every now and again and please do keep me posted on how Shepherd's Bush is doing; the good, the bad and the ugly!!!

Lots of Bush love, always,

Birdie x
