The road beneath my feet

Shepherd's Bush features one of my favourite roads in London. I will leave these photographs to explain why and I have no doubt any pastel loving locals out there will share my opinion, although some may argue that, strictly speaking, the road with it's W6 postcode is Hammersmith. The residents who can afford such properties will probably lead this argument. Maybe, maybe not, yet I include it in my Bush boundaries, as well as the brilliant pub, Anglesea Arms, which is found at the end of the road.

What can I say? I like pretty things. Especially pretty things in the Bush.*

* In Birdie's opinion.

  1. One big meh from me. Looks like they're trying to emulate Notting Hill. Pseudy Brackenbury Village types!

    Great butcher admittedly (nb went to school with Mr Stenton's son) and a great pub in the Anglesea. But a couple of pubs and a butcher doth not a village in the middle of Hammersmith make.

    Ignore the 80s estate agent name. They created it. Would love to see a car sticker there saying Hammersmith and proud.

    Ah well. Maybe I should have stuck to Loftus Road as my favourite road ;-)

  3. The pastel colours are the result of an advertising campaign for paint. They painted all the houses different colours a few years back apparently.

  4. First image has the ever-present Jensen Interceptor (on left) – beautiful car altho' this one has seen slightly better days... don't know who owns it but a landmark around that patch for a fair few years now. I've always liked the colours on the houses altho' they are a touch icing-sweet... True what's said above, re Stentons, never mind Lidgates. Anyway, good job, keep the pics and posts coming...

  5. I did wonder what that car was so thank you JW for clarifying. You're right the colours are a bit super maybe sickly sweet but I think that's why I like them,

    Thank you for reading and commenting,
