Pretty as a picture...

I take bad pictures and it follows that I nurture an envy of anyone who has the patience and skill to produce beautiful pictures, particularly when they're of not necessarily beautiful things. Let us, yet again, be honest about it; Shepherd's Bush is full of not necessarily beautiful things. However former Shepherd's Bush resident Suma captures something quite beautiful about Shepherd's Bush in these photos she took whilst living here.

I particularly love the pictures of Shepherd's Bush Market (much more impressive than my own attempts). Suma tells me one of the best things about the Bush is that it's such a great vibrant place and this makes it a real delight for any urban photographer. Despite much effort to find a new home in the Bush (which I remember trying to help her with) Suma now lives in admittedly more up-market Southfields but regularly tweets me about missing the Bush. I hope she will be back in the Bush soon, maybe at a future Bush tweet up where she can talk more about her only too brief encounter with Shepherd's Bush, though I can tell from Suma's photographs that it was an affair to remember...

You can view more of Suma's beautiful photographs on her Flickr or on her blog, which is worth reading just for the Music Mondays she posts and kindly tweets to me every week - thank you Suma!
